Florence - Inferno
„A Pearl of the Renaissance”, that is how Florence is usually spoken about. The city amazes at every step with its original and distinctive architecture. The perfect example is Piazza San Giovanni where the cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore and the Baptistery are located. The Baptistery might be in the shadow of Santa Maria del Fiore but it hides some interesting secrets. Professor Langdon and Sienna Brookes also notice uniqueness of the Baptistery as they try to solve the riddle. They related the Baptistery to the Paradise mentioned by Dante in “The Divine Commedy”. One of the main gates, on the east side, designed by Lorenzo Ghiberti in XV century are called The Gates of Paradise. They depict 10 scenes of the Old Testament and Bible characters.
In the baptismal font, the characters find the mask of Dante and the riddle left by its owner, a scientist and billionaire Zobrist who wants to control a human population and plan to release a virus to achieve it.
