The Plaza Hotel — Where Chuck First Said ‘I Love You’
Opened in the year 1907, the Plaza Hotel is a 20-story hotel that also stands as an apartment condominium in New York City. Situated in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood, this hotel is near the Central Park Zoo, Carnegie Hall, and the Tramway Plaza. This Plaza holds significance not just because it is known as a historic attraction, but it also was used to film a landmark scene in the popular TV series Gossip Girl.
Power couple Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) and Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) have had a rocky relationship throughout the series thus far in the first two seasons. In Season 2, Episode 25 titled “The Goodbye Gossip Girl”, the students finally graduate high school. Blair takes advantage of the opportunity to declare her immense love for Chuck. Chuck is unable to utter those three words back and leaves on a trip to Europe. When Chuck does return to New York from Europe, he meets Blair in front of the Plaza. He tells her that everywhere he went in Europe, he thought of Blair and couldn’t help but buy her gifts. He ends the conversation by telling her he loves her, which leaves Blair overjoyed.
